Memories 

Travel is where memories begin.

Imagine this; heading out on a well-planned vacation with expectations of an exciting and memorable time in Ethiopia and Kenya, East Africa. As we proceeded on one of our Kenya excursions, and unaware of what was ahead, our tour buses pulled up to a gated entrance guarded by security. After a moment the gates opened and we were allowed onto the Obama Family Village. The village elder women ushered us in with a ceremonial welcome dance.

There are precious few in this world that has an opportunity like this and even fewer are invited into the home of Mama Sarah, President Obama's Grandmother. Now imagine all the things you hoped to experience, finding yourself in the company of the Obama family, enjoying the fellowship and food Mama Sarah prepared just for us. 

As the travel coordinator, I knew in advance that this day was ahead, however, no one in our group had a clue. It is difficult to capture in words, the amazement, and exclusive pleasure we all shared. That particular day is now and forever a most treasured memory for the CST Travelers and me.
